North East Lincolnshire Council has pledged to lobby and support the Government to do all it can ensure British Steel in Scunthorpe is retained.

Clee Fields and the site of the former Scartho Swimming Pool have been earmarked for development and investment into community sporting facilities.

There were red faces among the Labour opposition when they brought to the council chamber an issue which has nothing to do with North East Lincolnshire.

“Most dog owners take their responsibilities seriously – it’s a shame that a careless few spoil things for the rest of us,” says Councillor Ron Shepherd, as NELC cracks down on dog fouling.

New Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) come into force today in the borough, targeting irresponsible dog ownership and anti-social behaviour.

A fixed penalty notice can (FPN) be issued to any person who breaches a PSPO, giving them an opportunity to avoid prosecution by paying a fixed penalty of up to £100.

North East Lincolnshire is moving forward – and moving on – from “crazy” and “foolhardy” Labour decisions, says the council’s deputy leader.

Councillor Stan Shreeve is relaxing this afternoon after completing the Orsted Great Grimsby 10K in 78 minutes.
