More than £17 million has been awarded to North East Lincolnshire to deliver sweeping changes to the heart of Grimsby, including a fresh home for Grimsby’s Top Town Market, a new cinema and leisure units nearby.

Today you are also voting for your Police and Crime Commissioner.

Polling stations across our area will be safe places for voters to cast their ballots in the coming election.

North East Lincolnshire Council and Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner elections will be held on Thursday 6 May.

This year however, polling stations will see a number of changes to ensure that they are safe for voters and reduce the risk of the virus spreading.

Two years ago, you, the voters of Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham, elected the first majority Conservative administration in the history of North East Lincolnshire Council.  Thank you for entrusting us with running your local authority.  

Whether it’s building sandcastles, tucking into fish and chips, paddle boarding or taking a stroll, many of us are beginning to enjoy visiting Cleethorpes even more as restrictions continue to ease across England.

From today, Monday 12 April, further restrictions are being eased across England.

Conservative party chairman Amanda Milling visited Grimsby yesterday to support candidates standing in the upcoming local elections.

North East Lincolnshire Council’s Public Health team are to host a webinar for businesses ahead of the lifting of national COVID-19 restrictions.

People are being reminded that they now cannot walk their dogs along the central beach until 30 September.
