About 20,000 households now have a pair of new recycling wheelie bins after deliveries started a month ago this week.
Households in parts of Waltham, Humberston, Sidney Sussex, Wybers Wood and South ward are among those receiving bins this week.
Next week deliveries will be made in parts of Heneage, Croft Baker, Immingham and West Marsh.
Strong winds are hampering some deliveries this week. A specialist company is distributing the bins and has had to avoid delivering along some main roads during the windy weather. They deliver about 5,000 bins per week.
The delivery crews are also lying down the bins is some areas to stop them blowing over in the wind.
What happens to existing recycling boxes?
North East Lincolnshire Council is working with Stallingborough-based recycling company Grimsby Granulation Ltd to collect and recycle the unwanted recycling boxes.
Grimsby Granulation have made a short video to show what happens to the boxes after they collect them.
Watch the video on our You Tube page.
They are shredded into small pieces and then granulated and sent to be used to make new products, such as plastic buckets.
Leave your unwanted boxes with the new recycling bins on the first recycling collection day. Make sure the boxes are empty when leaving them out.
Unwanted boxes can also be returned to the Community Recycling Centres in Grimsby or Immingham.
Households can keep their recycling boxes as storage tubs, planters or find other uses for them.
Cllr Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for Environment and Transport at North East Lincolnshire Council, said:
“It’s a month since the first deliveries started in Scartho and so far 20,000 homes are recycling with their new bins.
“Remember to flatten cardboard boxes and wash and squash plastic bottles when putting them in your bin.
“I’d like to thank everyone for making the effort to recycle more, the new bins are making it much easier. And that’s what we want, to get people recycling more.”
Check your delivery date
People can check their delivery date by visiting the recycling bins page at www.nelincs.gov.uk/bins
Some new build homes, communal properties and houses with no front garden will not appear on the calendar. There were some other properties missing from the calendar, but these should be displaying now.
If your property does not have a front garden and restricted access to the rear garden, the Council will write to you soon to let you know what is happening. If you have a new build property, your bin will be delivered when our crews get to your area. There are no changes for communal properties with shared bins.
Instruction booklet
All bins come with an instructional leaflet. Copies of the leaflet are also on the recycling bins page of council website at www.nelincs.gov.uk/bins.
The new bins replace existing recycling boxes. Households are being told to start using the bins as soon as they arrive.
Mark your bin with your house number and make a note of the unique reference number on the side of the bins, so you know which is yours.
Collection days will remain the same for most homes until early 2021. There are no changes to collections for household waste, garden waste or collections from communal bins.
