North East Lincolnshire Council is consulting residents on its Housing Assistance and Disability Adaptation Policy.
The policy includes details of the grants and loans that the council offers to help households in the area with things like essential repairs, reducing fuel poverty and improving access to enable independent living.
The consultation is seeking feedback on how fair and clear the policy is as part of a wider review on the council’s approach to housing assistance funding.
The consultation will help the local authority to understand how people view the policy, whether they agree with the schemes on offer, and whether they have any ideas on how the council can seek to assist residents further.
Councillor John Fenty, portfolio holder for housing, said: “This is a chance for people to have their say on how the council supports local residents with housing assistance and disability adaptions.
“The policy covers a whole range of grants and support schemes that allow people to live independently in safe, warm and dry homes that are, where necessary, adapted for disabled access.
“The policy is coming up for review and we’re asking the public for their thoughts going forward.”
