COVID-19 has had health, social, emotional, and financial impacts on many of us.
We all need to be aware of our mental and physical wellbeing and to try to remember to be kind to ourselves and the people around us after such a difficult year.
There are lots of things you can do to look after your mental health and wellbeing. This is especially important when we must stay at home.
That’s why the North East Lincolnshire Council and NHS North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group Union, alongside NHS mental health services provider NAVIGO, will be delivering a health and wellbeing booklet to every household in the borough.
The eight-page booklet, due to hit doormats next week, urges people to connect and reach out, as well as providing a range of contact numbers, useful websites, and helplines for those who may be struggling.
The booklet’s key messages include:
- Connecting and reaching out
- Being active and connecting with nature
- Taking notice and slowing down
- Learning and doing
- Helping and giving to others
- Support with financial issues
Councillor Margaret Cracknell, portfolio holder for health and wellbeing, said: “We know this is a hard time for many people and we want our residents to know there is help out there and where they can get it should they need it.
“No one should be suffering alone, so please take a read of the booklet when it arrives. It may just help you reach out and find help where you may not have known you could find it.
“There’s also plenty of hints and tips on prioritising your health and wellbeing to give yourself a boost as we enter a challenging 2021.”
If you are struggling to cope, are worried about someone you know or need to speak to someone urgently, there is a range of help available.
