On Thursday, July 1 there is an election to choose a new councillor to represent the Heneage ward on North East Lincolnshire Council.
Only a few weeks ago, you once again put your trust in the Conservatives to run North East Lincolnshire Council in May’s local elections. Now we are asking you to have your say one more time, and vote for Catherine Hogan, your Conservative candidate, in this by-election.
Catherine is proving her worth in our community by passionately campaigning about the issues that matter. She is determined to improve on the positive steps already being taken to tackle issues affecting the appearance of our area, such as littering and fly-tipping.
Voting for Catherine to serve you in Heneage ward is a vote for continued improvement and investment.
“I am regularly out and about in the ward,” she said, “and residents are eager to meet me and talk directly about what affects them – the positive things happening in our area but also the challenges and issues we need to address.
“This year is much brighter, as we move towards a Covid-19 recovery aided by Conservative government investment in our area.”
Catherine is asking for your vote to work alongside Mark Smith, the Conservative councillor you recently chose to represent you in Heneage. A long-standing resident of the ward, together he and Catherine pledge to be visible and active.
Catherine said: “Good things are already happening. For example, residents in Mallard Mews have formed a group to take action against overgrown footpaths and neglected areas. They contacted Mark within a week of him being elected, and he reinstalled a litter bin. He’s also working with the council to bring back into use some overgrown parking bays.“
And fly-tipping in Sixhills Street around the play area is in the process of being cleared through council enforcement. A community group is being established there to clean up the area.
“If I am elected as your local councillor, I will continue listening to what’s important to you and take action and keep up the good work going on here.”
