Stan Shreeve, councillor for the Humberston and New Waltham ward, is running the Orsted Great Grimsby 10KM in aid of Harbour Place.
Stan is a trustee for the charity, which runs a centre for rough sleepers and homeless people in North East Lincolnshire.
He said: “I joined Harbour Place as a trustee when I saw first-hand the great work it does supporting rough sleepers.
“Not only do we provide sustenance and overnight shelter, but we also work with stakeholders in supporting service users with complex issues, from mental health to substance abuse, helping them back into permanent accommodation.”
Stan is preparing by running three times a week. He also took part in the Cleethorpes Park Run.
