Programme of highway drainage maintenance to start

Routine drainage maintenance to a number of highway drains in Grimsby is due to start from Monday 23 August.

The maintenance work is essential to reduce the risk of flooding on the public highway and allow engineers to inspect the drainage systems and any occurrences of flooding in the area.

The programme of works is as follows:

  • Monday 23 August – Weelsby Road and Peaks Parkway junction. A lane closure will be in place on Peaks Parkway between 7pm and midnight.
  • Tuesday 24 August – A section of Peaks Parkway, alongside Ainslie Street Park. A lane closure will be in place between 7pm and 3am.
  • Wednesday 25 August – Ellis Way underpass, between the Asda entrance and Queen Street. A lane closure will be in place between 7pm and 3am.
  • Thursday 26 August – Frederick Ward Way, between Cartergate and Alexandra Road. A lane closure and temporary traffic signals will be in operation between 7pm and 12am.

The works will be managed and overseen by the council’s regeneration partner, ENGIE, with contractor, Intelligent Drainage Solutions Ltd, carrying out the works.

North East Lincolnshire Council, ENGIE and Intelligent Drainage Solutions Ltd would like to apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.
