Councillor Philip Jackson, the leader of the North East Lincolnshire Conservatives group, said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II this afternoon.
“I know that many people in our borough will be deeply feeling this loss.
“Her Majesty’s service and dedication to our nation earned her great admiration and respect; a reign for which we are thankful. A remarkable life to reflect on as we mourn her passing.”
Tonight, the council confirmed that flags throughout the borough of North East Lincolnshire have been lowered to half-mast as a mark of respect.
