Plans for the former Waves nightclub are set to go before the council’s Cabinet at its meeting next week.
The report sets out the proposed scheme layout for the key corner plot on the junction of Sea Road and Central Prom.
The changes proposed include alterations to the road layout, improvement of public spaces and the preliminary designs for a new, multi-functional building that will replace the existing empty public house, the adjacent toilet block and the small kiosk.
If approved at Cabinet next Monday evening, it’s proposed that the new building would house commercial space as well as visitor facilities, modern toilets and changing facilities, beach safety and tourist information services. Additionally, a small events space would be created within Pier Gardens as part of the development.
The project would be supported by £1-million funding from the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership’s Local Growth Fund as well as from the Council’s capital programme.
