The crew of HMS Grimsby were hosted by the Deputy Mayor of North East Lincolnshire during their recent visit to the town.
The Deputy Mayor, Councillor David Hasthorpe, said: “Having met the officers and crew of HMS Grimsby on Sunday at a function held by ABP, it was my pleasure to receive them once again at Great Grimsby Town Hall on Monday to reaffirm the Freedom of The Borough on HMS Grimsby.
“Following a parade lead by the Royal Marines Band, I had the honour of chatting to members of the crew and enjoyed refreshments with them in the town hall afterwards.
“Lt Commander Hazelwood praised the warm welcome from more than 1,000 visitors on board ship on Sunday and the crowds who turned out for the parade.
“He told me that the whole crew would take back happy memories of their visit and the hospitality shown to them.”
